Gardunha Broadband Internet Coming to areas surrounding Monsanto, Orca and Alpedrinha

High-speed broadband for your Quinta

We are in the initial stages of deploying a new wireless broadband service in the regions around Alpedrinha, Orca, and Monsanto.

We need to know who is interested so we can build our infrastructure and petition the local authorities for support. Registering your interest will help us proceed.

Conditions of service

Register your interest

We need to know where our broadband service is needed most. Register your interest here to help us plan our service and begin seeking support from the local authorities. Registering your interest is commitment-free.

Please describe your location as accurately as possible.
Can we contact you with updates about our service in your area? You can unsubscribe at any time, and we will never pass your contact information to a third party.

How does it work?

Our technicians will install a small receiver dish on your roof or on an exterior wall. A router will provide WiFi which you can connect all your devices to.

Your receiver dish will point to one of our access points installed on a high location such as Monsanto or Alpedrinha.

Is this 5G?

No. This is old-fashioned WiFi technology. It is no more powerful than any WiFi signal you may encounter at home or in town. However, it is smarter. To cover the long distance to your property our devices do two things differently to normal WiFi.

Firstly, rather than shout louder our devices listen very carefully in an extremely specific direction.

Secondly, rather than broadcast a signal everywhere, the devices send their signal directly back to us.

How fast is it?

We will be able to deliver speeds up to 30 times faster than you would receive from a 3G or 4G wireless router. In technical terms this means up to 300 megabits per second.

But what does this really mean? This means videos loading almost instantly, even when your entire household is watching Netflix. This means reliable audio and video calls. This means not having to worry about your internet connection when working from home.

How much will it cost?

We don't have exact prices (yet). However, we know we must be affordable and comparable in price to the available alternatives.

When will it be available?

We want to start a pilot project as soon as possible. We are currently petitioning the local authorities to assist in our deployment, but you may be able to help too.

How can you help?

Registering your interest early means we will know where to deploy our network. We are a small company and want to reach the most people with our limited resources as quickly as possible. Your early support will also give us a compelling case to take to the local authorities to grow our network.

Would this service be useful to you? Please let us know!

Use the form at the top of this page to register your interest.

Do we need anything else?

We need high locations where we can install our access points. Ideally these would be on the Gardunha Mountain Range or atop Monsanto.

We also need access to one or more locations which can receive fibre broadband. This will allow us to provide our new network with the necessary bandwidth. This could be a house, café, office, or public building. We will arrange this and cover all costs involved.

If you or anyone you know may be able to assist with any of the above then please contact adam@gardunha.net.

Who is doing this?

Hi 👋! My name is Adam. I've been living in the area for a little over a year now. Some of you probably know me and may have heard me talking about this idea for a while.

I've worked in software development for about 15 years and I want to find a way to use my skills to give back to the area in which I now live. I'm making progress already, but before I move much further I want to hear from other people – do you want this service? Will this be useful to you? If so, please fill in the form above.

If you have any questions at all please get in touch with me at adam@gardunha.net.
